Summertown Metals Announces Merger of Legacy Metals
Summertown, Tennessee – March 3, 2025 – Summertown Metals, a leading provider of high-quality metal building solutions, is excited to announce the merger of Legacy Metals into the Summertown Metals brand. Over the course of 2025, Legacy Metals, located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, will transition ownership and begin operating as an additional location under Summertown Metals.
Legacy Metals was founded in 2017 as a joint venture by brothers Lewis, Matt, and Derek Stoll, modeled after their family business, Summertown Metals, which was established by their father, John Stoll, over 19 years ago. Summertown Metals is currently owned and operated by brothers Matt and Derek Stoll, with locations in Summertown, TN, Hayden, Alabama, and Morristown, Tennessee.
Summertown Metals is widely recognized in Tennessee and surrounding states as the premier builder of barndominium homes, pole barns, and other structures featuring metal siding and roofs, completing thousands of structures yearly. The company’s manufacturing operations include metal siding and trim, wood trusses, and steel trusses, while its retail operations provide a variety of building materials.
Legacy Metals has experienced rapid growth since its inception, completing nearly 1,000 structures across Kentucky and surrounding states in the past year alone. With a similar business model and operations, the success of both ventures has created a unique situation of market overlap.
“The success of both ventures has created a unique problem of market overlap, so now we appear to the public to be two competing companies, when we are actually one family,” said Lewis Stoll, CEO of Legacy Metals.
The merger of Legacy Metals into the Summertown Metals brand will allow the company to fully combine resources and buying power, resulting in new jobs, enhanced services, and better prices for customers. The expansion plans will continue at the Hopkinsville location, ensuring the same high quality and exceptional service that customers have come to expect.
“Expansion plans will continue at the Hopkinsville location. There will be a visual shift, but the high quality and service our family and team have always provided will be the same,” said Matt Stoll, owner at both facilities.
Summertown Metals looks forward to leveraging its combined resources to strengthen its market position and enhance customer experiences throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, and beyond.
